Spruce Goose Hangar FOR SALE

(Les Nakashima / Tishman Speyer)

Tishman Speyer Properties, is looking to sell their Spruce Goose hangar once owned by eccentric billionaire, Howard Hughes. Located in Playa Vista, on Jefferson Boulevard near Centinela. The hangar was used to build the infamous Spruce Goose back in the 1940s. It is currently used as a motion picture set (“Titanic,” “World Trade Center,” and “ Transformers” were all filmed here). The 281,000 square feet structure is longer than two football fields and nearly seven stories high. Real estate experts value the hangar at more than $60 million. Tishman Speyer hopes to sell it to a studio operator.
